Activists of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) today held protests here against the killing of BJP youth activist Shabir Ahmad Bhat.
Describing the killing as "cowardly and inhuman", BJYM state president Vikas Choudhary said it was an attempt to muzzle voices of the people in the valley.
"This act of cowardice is condemnable. He was killed a day before the auspicious day of Eid-al-Ada. This describes that the terrorists respect no faith and are the real enemy of Kashmir and Islam on the whole," he said.
"The cowardly acts can't stop the masses of Kashmir to join the BJP. The martyrdom of Shabir Ahmad Bhat will not go in vain and will be avenged by the people of the valley and the security forces," Choudhary said.
Bhat was shot dead yesterday by terrorists in Pulwama. His bullet-riddled body was found in the fields at Rakh-e-Litter area of Kupwara.
