Black Pepper, ginger spurt on heavy demand

In a restricted activity, prices of black pepper and ginger spurted at spices market here today on heavy demand from stockists and exporters.
Rest all other spices closed on account of "Muharram".
Black pepper gained by Rs 10/9 per kg to Rs 551/600 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 541/591.
Ginger bleached climbed by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 210 from Rs 200 and unbleached moved up by Rs 15 per kg to Rs 225 as against Rs 210 yesterday.
Following are today's closing rates in Rs with previous rates in brackets:
Black pepper (per kg) 551/600 (541/591), ginger bleached (per kg) 210 (200), ginger unbleached (per kg) 225 (210), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) closed (7,550), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) closed (7,450), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) closed (9,500), Copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) closed (8,600).
