A loud explosion was heard in the Turkish province of Gaziantep near the Syrian border, which the governor's office said could have been caused by jets taking part in Turkey's military incursion in northern Syria.
The governorate said yesterday that after assessments, "no one injured, dead or material damage was discovered" in a statement.
"This sound could have been caused by warplanes involved in the Euphrates Shield operation going over the usual noise limit. We will give further details later," the governor said.
Turkey launched the operation in August in support of Syrian rebel fighters seeking to retake IS-held territory in northern Syria and also to halt the advance of Kurdish militia. Ankara has been providing aerial support as well as tanks and hundreds of soldiers in the offensive.
Tensions are high in Gaziantep three months after 57 people were killed in a suicide bombing on a Kurdish wedding in Gaziantep which was blamed on Islamic State jihadists.
