Blistering heat sweeps Hry and Pb, Hisar hottest at 44.5 C

Haryana and Punjab were today swept by blistering heat, with temperature soaring past 44 degrees Celsius at Hisar.
Hisar in Haryana was the hottest place in the two states, recording a high of 44.5 degrees Celsius, which was four notches above normal, the MeT Department report said here.
Bhiwani also sizzled at 43.4 degrees, up three notches, while Ambala's high settled at 41.8 degrees, four degrees above normal.
It was a hot day at Karnal, where the residents sweated it out at 42.2 degrees, three notches above normal.
Chandigarh today recorded season's hottest day so far at 42.3 degrees, four notches above normal.
In Punjab, sweltering heat prevailed in Amritsar which recorded a high of 42.3 degrees, up three notches.
The state's industrial town Ludhiana also braved a hot day at 42.2 degrees, up three notches, while Patiala's maximum settled at 42 degrees, also up by three degrees.
No relief from intense heat wave has been forecast by the MeT until tomorrow.
