Board of Inquiry to commence probe into cadet's death tomorrow

Brigadier Rajneesh Sinha will lead the three-member Board of Inquiry which will probe the death of a 19-year-old NCC cadet Dhanush Krishna, who died of bullet injury after his rifle accidentally went off during a practice session.
Brigadier Sinha will be arriving here this evening and the investigation will commence tomorrow, NCC Deputy Commandant Colonel Nandakumar said.
The body of the cadet was handed over to his relatives after post-mortem today, he said.
The body will be first taken to his ancestral home at Nilambur and then to Pathanapuram for the funeral tomorrow.
Dhanush Krishna, a B.Sc second year student of a college, was resting at a nearby shed after lunch when the incident occurred at the National Cadet Corps Firing Range in West Hill here yesterday.
The cadet was holding the rifle and sitting when it went off suddenly and the bullet hit him on his chest.
