Boat capsizes in Chambal river; 5 missing

Five persons were missing after a boat carrying 35 passengers capsized in Chambal river near Kanjera in adjoining Uttar Pradesh, a police official said.
Thirty of the passengers swam to safety while five others, including a woman and her daughter, were still missing, Suresh Singh Kushwaha, In-charge of Nagra Police Station near here in Madhya Pradesh, told reporters.
The boat occupants were going to Kanjera Ghat under Baah tehsil in Uttar Pradesh from Saaspura Ghat in Madhya Pradesh's Morena district to take part in a religious function, he said.
Divers have been pressed into service to trace the missing persons, Kushwaha added.
