Body of farmer found in Ganga canal, suicide suspected

The body of a 75-year-old farmer was recovered from Ganga canal in Khatoli area here, with police suspecting it to be a case of suicide.
The body of Sahenderpal was found in the canal yesterday, SHO S K Sharma said.
He said it is suspected to be a case of suicide. The body has been sent for postmortem and an investigation is underway, he added.
The farmer's son, Amrish, said his father was worried as he had taken a debt of Rs 2 lakh from a bank.
Sub Divisional Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan said an inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
