Police today said they exhumed the skeletal remains and sent them for forensic analysis after the Chennai police zeroed in on the unidentified body by matching details available in the state Crime Records Bureau.
Vinoth, adopted son of a Chennai-based couple, is missing since February 10, 2014 and a case was registered by Chintadripet police and efforts were on to trace him.
A police team along with the parents arrived in the district and after obtaining due permission from the district administration, the skulls and bones of the boy were unearthed and sent to Chennai for forensic analysis to ascertain the identity, they said.
