Thambu Samy, serving with the Army was on his way back to Dehradun, to rejoin duty after a brief vacation at his native Ariyalur, went missing after he boarded a train to Delhi in March 2011.
Since his father's complaint did not lead anywhere, the case was transferred to the CBCID in 2012 following a Madras High Court directive after a petition was filed by Samy's wife.
Investigation by CBCID revealed that Delhi Railway police had registered a case regarding one unidentified dead body on March 19, 2011. Samy's family members too verified the body in Delhi, a CBCID release said.
