Assistant police inspector B S Shinde from the Virar police station told PTI that around 10 am in the morning some villagers noticed a suitcase lying abanadoned on the roadside on the highway opposite KT Resort.
They went and checked the suitcase which contained the body of a young man aged around 30 years in the suitcase. The body had only a underwear on it and bore strangulation marks on its neck.
The local police took charge of the body and sent it for postmortem, the police officer said.
A manhunt is on to trace the killers, he said.
No arrest had been made so far and the body is yet to be identified, he said.
