The body of Yogesh Kumar (40), posted in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh, was found floating in the pond yesterday, they said.
According to police officials, prima-facie the incident seems to be an accident. It is suspected that Kumar might have been passing by the pond when his leg slipped following which he drowned.
However, the possibility of a murder is not ruled out, they said.
The real cause behind the death can be ascertained only after getting the post-mortem report and upon interrogation of the deceased's family members, police said.
