On Thursday last, PREPAK (Pro) activist N Joyshanker Singh (30) was apprehended by police commandos from his residence in Lairikyengbam Leikai in Imphal West district, a Manipur police release said.
Joyshanker was stated to be a "highly trained cadre" in assembling bombs and planting of IEDs.
Search operations at the house led to the discovery of one IED pipe bomb, eight batteries, one white-coloured battery, five EW marked batteries, one Panasonic battery, six detonators, three C 4 explosive cake, circuit board and others.
Investigations revealed that he was earlier arrested in 2013 for planting an IED at the Western gate of the Chief Minister's residence and the popular hangout for youngsters "Route-39".
Joyshanker said that he and one associate K Roshan (25) had abducted one of their former cadres, Ningthiba from Pukhao locality, and shot him dead, the release said.
The weapons seized from Joyshanker's residence were meant to be used for explosion purpose in different areas in Imphal on the occasion of the outfit's Foundation Day on June 1, 2016, the officer said.
Ramananda turned out to be a Self-styled General Secretary of KCP (MC) and is learnt to be providing assistance to PREPAK (Pro) activist in serving demand letters, transportation of arms and ammunition and explosives.
One pistol along with a magazine with five rounds of 9 mm were also seized from the possession of Ramananda whose outfit KCP (MC) is observing Suspension of Operations with the state government, said the police release.
Yesterday, Manipur police commandos arrested an active cadre of the proscribed KYKL during a search operation at Heirok Part-3 in Thoubal district and identified as 27-year-old N Deny.
Elsewhere in the same district, another activist M Milan Singh (37) of the outfit KCP was nabbed from Wangjing-Heirok crossing.
He was involved in transporting extorted money from Imphal to Moreh, added the release.
