A cadre of an outlawed Maoist faction in Nepal was killed and four others, including an Indian national, were injured when a bomb he was carrying in a tiffin box accidently exploded in country's far west, police said.

The incident happened in Dhangadhi on Thursday night when Ram Bahadur Singh, belonging to the Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist led by Netra Bikram Chand, entered a hotel for a cup of tea when the Improvised explosive device placed inside a tiffin-box exploded, leaving four others injured, the police said.

"Four other people sustained injuries in the incident. The 25-year-old cadre of the party who sustained injuries in the incident died while undergoing treatment at local Mayametro Hospital," a senior police officer said.

He said those injured in the incident included an Indian national.

"In the incident, the 40-year-old owner of the hotel named Keshavraj Pandey, a 35 year-old Indian named Mobin Khan and two others named Laxman Serali and Jitendra Yadav in their 30s were injured," the officer said.

The police also recovered a Chinese pistol, a motorbike, a remote control and a tester from the site.

The police has initiated a probe.
