Boy killed, three injured by lightning

A eight-year-old boy was killed while three women including the mother of the boy were seriously injured in two separate incident of lightning that struck parts of Dumka district today.
The boy, Badal Turi along with his mother Rojana Turi were sleeping in the thatched house when lightning struck in Kurwa village today, police said.
While Badal was killed on the spot, his mother sustained serious injuries, sources said adding that she was immediately rushed to Dumka Sadar Hospital, where doctors referred her to a hospital in Burdwan district of adjoining West Bengal.
In another incident, A 30-year-old tribal woman and her relatives sustained injuries in the lightning in Bamdo Pipra village under Jama police station area of the district.

Sumitra Baske and her 18-year-old relative Anisha Hembram, who was a resident of Poraiyahat in Godda district, were at home when they were hit by the lightning this afternoon, sources said.
Both the injured were rushed to the Sadar Hospital, Dumka, where they were admitted, sources added.
