Mani Chawla, son of a hotel owner, was taking a walk after dinner last night when some unidentified persons tried to pull him in a car, they said.
When Chawla resisted and cried for help, the alleged kidnappers fired at him, they said.
The victim who received injuries on his waist is admitted in a hospital, they said.
A case has been registered on complain of the victim's father, they said.
A few months back, Chawla's elder brother was found dead in a water tank near Malhipur area, they said.
