As part of the opening ceremony, the high priests would unfurl the traditional sacred Garuda Flag atop the Golden Holy Mast (Dwajastambham) inside the hill shrine after sunset on Saturday, temple sources said.
A traditional ceremony called 'Ankuraarpaanam' was conducted by the priests this evening on the eve of the festivities, they said.
Observing the decades old practice, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would arrive at the hills on Saturday night and make an offering of a set of new silk clothes on behalf of the state government to the shrine, they said.
Tight security arrangements have been made for the festivities.
