BRC Danapur, Mahilpur Football Club, Punjab win

BRC, Danapur and Mahilpur Football Club, Punjab today won their respective league matches in the 4th All India Football Tournament for 'Bihar Cup' at Moin-ul Haque stadium here today.
BRC, Danapur defeated United Kursiong Football Club (UKFC) by 2-1 in a Pool B league encounter, while Mahilpur Football Club, Punjab trounced BSF Jalandhar by 1-0 in a Pool A tie.
BRC Danapur drew first blood when midfielder Soren sent a measured cross pass from the left flank which the striker Sashi Chowhan controlled before blasting past the United Kursiong Football Club (UKFC).
The UKFC boys regrouped soon making a number of good moves and came close to scoring on at least two occasions with Arthin Rai being unlucky in particular after his right-footed shot rebounded off the bar.
T. Golay, however, found the target in 39th minute from 20 yards for the UKFC as the first half ended on level terms at 1-1.
In the second half, both BRC and UKFC were guilty for playing out rough game with players of the two sides pushing and shoving each other prompting the referee Prosenjit Mondal to hand out marching order UKFC captain Rathin Rai and Budrai Soren of BRC in 78th and 89th minute respectively.
BRC scored winning goal just nine minutes before the final whistle through Laxman Murmu.
With its first win in Pool B, BRC has earned three points from two matches, while UKFC has one point in kitty after same number of matches.
In the second match of the day, Mahilpur football club (Punjab) defeated BSF (Jalandhar) by a solitary first half goal.
The all-important goal came through a solo effort of Vasunder Singh in the 41st minutes.
BSF lost its second straight league match in Pool A in as many days after going down 0-2 against the Junior Army Football Club, Lucknow yesterday.
