The 32-year-old singer, who had exhibited erratic behaviour, including shaving her head in 2007, said she was so sick of being constantly followed by the photographers that staying home seemed a better option, reported Contactmusic.
In a candid new documentary 'I Am Britney Jean', which aired on US on December 22, Spears said she felt alienated from her fans during that period.
"But as time passed, they lightened up and they went away after I wouldn't come out of the house for two years. It was a trying time," Spears said.
