A joint special operation (Ambush) team with representatives of National Investigation Agency noticed suspicious movement near a house in Daulatpur village of the district early this morning. The team challenged the suspected person and apprehended him, it said.
On thorough search of the house of apprehended person, fake currency notes of face value of Rs 8.98 lakh in denomination of 500 and 2000 were found and seized.
The seized fake currency notes have been handed over to Baishnabnagar police station for further legal action, it said.
