Four accused, including the two alleged shooters, in real estate tycoon Deepak Bhardwaj murder case were today remanded in judicial custody till May 9 by a Delhi court.
Metropolitan Magistrate (MM) Prashant Sharma extended the judicial custody of four accused, including alleged shooters Purushottam Rana and Sunil Mann, when they were produced before him after expiry of their remand.
Others produced before the court were Amit, the driver of the car in which Rana and Mann had allegedly gone to the farm house of the 62-year-old local BSP leader to kill him on March 26, this year, and Pradeep, who had allegedly supplied arms.
The court extended their judicial custody after the Delhi Police said that their probe into the case is going on.
Bhardwaj's younger son Nitesh and lawyer Baljeet Singh Shehrawat, arrested on April 9 in connection with the case, are also in judicial custody along with Rakesh, who was the owner of the car used in the commission of the crime.
According to the police, self-styled godman Swami Pratibhanand, who is still absconding, is yet to be arrested in the case.
The police had said that Rana and Mann had gone to meet Pratibhanand before the crime and the conspiracy was allegedly hatched at Amit's residence.
Mann and Rana were arrested on April one amid high drama when they had come to Patiala House court to surrender.
While Rana was apprehended by the police just before he was to enter the court premises, Mann had managed to evade the waiting police and had entered a court room but the judge had refused to hear the matter and handed him over to Delhi Police Crime Branch officials, who were present there.
