BSP workers lathi-charged in Ambala

Police resorted to mild lathi-charge on BSP workers at Ambala City this evening when some of the agitators pelted stones at the passing vehicles, and the cops near Agarsain crossing here.
The BSP workers were protesting the arrest of some persons of a community in an incident which had occurred a few days back here.
Some of the residents of Patrehri village along with BSP leaders had come to Ambala City to submit a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner against the arrest of some of the persons of their community.
When the agitators reached near Agarsain Chowk at Ambala City some of them allegedly started throwing stones on the passing vehicles, police said, adding stones were also thrown at the cops.

The window panes of some of the vehicles were broken after which a mild cane-charge was used to maintain law and order, police said.
