The accused Ranjit Narayan Mishra, a resident of Adityapur under RIT police station of the district, came to produce documents in connection with cases filed by him under RIT police station to the official residence of Seraikela Sub-Division Police Officer (SDPO) allegedly carrying sweets stuffed in a polythene bag yesterday, Superintendent of Police, Inderjeet Mahatha said today.
Despite refusing to accept the sweets and cautioning the man, the SDPO later found the polythene packet kept on a table outside his residence and asked the jawans to check the bag, Mahatha said.
The outraged police officer then filed a complaint of criminal trespass with illegal means to influence the case by cheating, and the FIR was lodged under sections 417/447/451 IPC.
Later, the officer-in-charge of Seraikela police station Vinod Kumar and his RIT police station counterpart Amarjeet Prasad conducted raid in RIT police station area and arrest Mishra, Mahatha added.
