Special Judge V V Bambarde, after hearing the arguments of the prosecution and the defence decided that the six applicants do not deserve to be discharged from the case.
As many as 27 people, including senior civic officials, corporator, middlemen, builders, contractors, policemen, etc were arrested in the case.
The six accused, including NCP corporator of Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) Hira Patil, retired TMC Deputy Municipal Commissioner Srikant Sarmokdam and suspended Assistant Municipal Commissioner Shyam Thorbole, have been charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Prevention of Corruption Act.
