The foundation stone of the grid station at the premises of Mandoli jail was laid today by Power Minister Haroon Yusuf.
BYPL officials said the cost of the project will be around Rs 50 crore and it is expected to be completed within 18 months.
BYPL officials said the grid station will ensure improved supply of power to over 20 lakh consumers of Mandoli, Nand Nagri, Karawal Nagar and nearby areas.
The grid will supply electricity to over 20 lakh consumers in Nand Nagri and Karawal Nagar. At present, the area has a distribution capacity of 400 MVA. After the commissioning of the Grid, it will become 450 MVA," said BYPL CEO Ramesh Narayanan.
