Chief Minister said his government is committed to fulfil the promises made before the recently-held election.
"The orders to provide 35 kg of food grains (wheat and rice) at Rs 1/kg to the ration card holder families of priority category from January 1 onwards, has already been issued to the respective district administrations," an official release said here today.
Under the Chhattisgarh Food and Nutrition Security Act 2012, the blue ration card holder families of priority category will be provided the monthly supply of food grains at the revised rate of Rs 1/kg from January 1, 2014 onwards.
So far, these card holders were being provided Rs 1/kg rice under the Antyodaya scheme and at Rs 2/kg for others below the poverty line (BPL) families.
In his greeting message on New Year eve, the chief minister said that for Chhattisgarh it will be a year of new enthusiasm and courage to achieve higher goals of development.
Now as per the commitments done in the election manifesto, the state government will initiate Atal Agro-labourers Insurance Scheme for more than 17 lakh agriculture labourers of state.
