The explosives packed in steel tiffin boxes were seized from a dirt track near Churegaon village under Iragaon police station limits, a district police official told PTI.
While oneIEDweighed 10 kg,another was ofaround 5 kg, he added.
Acting on specific inputs, a joint squad of District Force and Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) had launched a search operation to the interiors of Iragaon to trace the explosives, he said.
While cordoning off a dirt track that goes along a river near Churegaon village, they spotted the IEDs averting a major mishap, the official said adding the explosives were planted by rebels to target the security personnel during their operation in the area.
