CAIT opposes FDI in e-commerce retail

Traders body CAIT today said any "hasty decision" on allowing FDI in e-commerce retail will prove detrimental to over six crore small shop owners.
The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) also said that it will soon release a white paper on FDI in e-commerce retail.
The paper would be submitted to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
It expressed hope that the new government would consult small traders before taking any decision on this issue, CAIT said in a statement.
