Carrying of camera, tape recorder and other gadgets that can have security implications will not be allowed without prior permission inside the buildings which come under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) security cover.
"No person shall be allowed to take camera, tape recorder, binocular or carry any fire arms or weapons inside the government buildings except with the prior permission, in writing of the Chief Security Officer," an MHA circular posted on the Department of Telecom (DoT) website said.
All government buildings including Parliament, housing departments under the central government are covered under MHA security.
The rule for carrying arms, however, will not apply on officers who are required to carry weapons as part of their duty and Sikhs who carry kripan of permissible length.
A similar MHA circular posted on DoT website in March 2015 did not had provisions on gadgets.
The latest circular directs security personnels to search and frisk properly each and every visitor entering buildings under MHA and in case of suspicion the security staff may also search belongings of any person at the time of his exit from these buildings.
There are around 80 government buildings in Delhi which come under the MHA security cover.
