Campaigns, activities in Haryana to mark 3 yrs of Swachh

The Haryana government today said it would organise 'Swachhta hi sewa' programme from September 15 to October 2, to mark the third anniversary of the Swachh Bharat mission.
Awareness campaigns and community activities would be organised on a grand scale throughout the state during the period.
This was informed by Chief Secretary D S Dhesi while presiding over a meeting with all deputy commissioners, additional deputy commissioners and councillors through video conferencing, according to an official release.
He said Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar would launch this programme from Gurgaon on September 15.
Similarly, the programme would be launched by ministers and other distinguished guests in all districts of the state.
He said a pledge of cleanliness would be administered and cleanliness campaign would also be organised on this occasion, in which local MPs, MLAs, officers and representatives would participate.
Dhesi said for this programme, the deputy commissioner concerned would be in-charge at district level and additional deputy commissioner would coordinate all activities.
Draft of a scheme would also be prepared for organising such activities at the levels of gram panchayat, block, district, urban local bodies and municipal corporation.
He said on September 17, 'shramdaan' and sanitation drive would be held, besides triggering activities around open defecation-vulnerable spots with participation of community, self help groups and local NGOs.
A state-level programme on 'shramdaan' and sanitation drive would be organised in Sonipat which would be inaugurated by the chief minister. The day would be celebrated as 'Sewa Divas'.
Dhesi said 'Samagra Swachhata Divas' (complete cleanliness day) would be observed on September 24.
