Car falls in canal in AP, seven of family dead

Seven of a family including two children died after the car in which they were travelling fell into a canal between Thakkellapadu and Phirangipuram villages in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh this evening, police said.
The mishap took place at around 6 pm, said sub-inspector Anandarao of Phirangipuram police station.
Moghal Kasimbi (60), resident of Phirangipuram, and her family were returning from Amaravathi in the district when the Maruti Alto in which they were travelling fell into the canal amid heavy rain.
Kasimbi herself survived. However her daughters Asa (29), Sama (30), sons-in-law Saida (34), Subani (35), grand- daughters Sania (9), Krishi(7) and Munni (16) drowned, the police officer said.

Kasimbi was admitted to Guntur General Hospital. Further probe is on.
