Cardamom futures extend gains; up 1.50% on rising demand

Extending its gains for the second day, cardamom prices rose by 1.50 per cent to Rs 974 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions amid a firming trend at spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in July advanced by Rs 14.40, or 1.50 per cent, to Rs 974 per kg in a business turnover of 587 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in August added Rs 9.50, or 1.02 per cent, to Rs 944 per kg in 434 lots.
Analysts said besides rising demand , tight supplies from producing belts in the spot market, kept cardamom prices higher at futures trade.
