Cardamom prices fell by 0.46% to Rs 891.80 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at prevailing higher levels amid sluggish demand in spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in far-month January declined by Rs 4.10, or 0.46% to Rs 891.80 per kg in business turnover of 13 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in December shed Rs 1.40, or 0.16% to Rs 865.60 per kg in 184 lots.

Market analysts said besides profit-booking by speculators, subdued demand in spot markets, mainly weighed on cardamom prices in futures trade.
