Cardamom futures fall 2.41% on muted demand

Cardamom prices drifted lower by 2.41 per cent to Rs 1,366 per kg in futures trading today as speculators trimmed their positions amid sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate stocks.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in December month fell by Rs 33.70 or 2.41 per cent to Rs 1,366 per kg in business turnover of 3 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in December contracts moved down by Rs 27.50 or 2.03 per cent to Rs 1,325 per kg in 89 lots.
Analysts said besides fall in demand in the spot market, adequate stocks position on higher supplies from producing regions mainly pulled down cardamom prices at futures trade.
