Cardamom prices were up by Rs 10 per kg in the national capital today in view of pick-up in demand from retailers and stockists against restricted supplies from producing belts.
However, other spices moved in a narrow range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.
Marketmen said improved demand from retailers and stockists against restricted supplies from producing belts mainly led to the rise in cardamom prices.
Cardamom small chitridar, colour robin, bold and extra-bold moved up by Rs 10 each to Rs 770-820, Rs 750-780, Rs 770-790 and Rs 890-940 per kg, respectively.
Following are today's quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 150-190, black pepper (per kg) 730-900, betel-nut (kg) 300-350, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,370-1,420 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,750-1,800.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 770-820, cardamom (colour robin) 750-780, cardamom bold 770-790, cardamom extra (bold) 890-940 and cloves 650-750.
