The injured health workers, belonging to dalit and tribal communities, were treated at the Muniguda CHC, a senior police officer said, adding, that a case has been registered against the medical officer in-charge of the CHC Dr Sanjib Kumar Behera.
The police have registered a case under sections 354, 294 and 310 of SC/ST Atrocities Act against the doctor, who allegedly attacked the women health workers as they failed to furnish monthly report at the review meeting.
The injured women were admitted at the Muniguda CHC where they are undergoing treatment under Dr Ajay Kumar Sahu.
The injured have been identified as Sujata Mishra (Hanumantpur), Hiramani Mandangi (Beramuguda), Krishnaveni Beura (Budubali), Chhayabati Satapathy (Bijapur), Manjula Panda (Dangasorada) and Droupadi Hikka (Tinapadar).
