The Movie Artists Association (MAA) of Tollywood has filed a complaint with the state CID stating that several websites have posted morphed vulgar photos of actors and actresses.
Following the complaint, the Cyber Crime wing of the Crime Investigation Department (CID) today registered a case under IT Act.
MAA stated that many websites are posting the morphed photos of actors and actresses in a vulgar manner and are also attaching derogatory write ups, a senior police official said.
"Following the complaint, we have registered a case under relevant sections of IT Act. Around 20 websites have been identified. But, there are many more which are carrying the morphed vulgar images along with derogatory write ups," CID's Cyber Crime Station SP U Ramamohan said, adding that further investigation is on.
