Case for misappropriation of Rs 3.79 cr at Cuncolim council

The anti-corruption bureau of the Goa vigilance department today filed a case against unknown officials of Cuncolim Municipal Council in the state for syphoning off government grant of Rs 3.79 crore.
Satish Desai, additional director, Urban Development Department, has filed a complaint in this regard.
A senior ACB official said the complaint is based on the audit report of 2012-13 submitted by an audit team specially constituted to examine records of the municipal body for the period between April 1, 2001 to March 31, 2013.
The report said there were irregularities in procurement of materials such as dustbins and bio-culture powder.
