The case was registered against four former Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs), a senior assistant and two teachers of Kunzar zone after an inquiry revealed that they have dishonestly and fraudulently misappropriated and embezzled the government funds during the five-year-long period, a spokesman of the SVO said.
The SVO conducted the inquiry on a complaint filed by Chief Education Officer Baramulla into the allegations that embezzlement and misappropriation of the funds by the officials of Education Zone Kunzar have been detected by an audit team during audit of accounts for the period April 2007 to March 2012, he said.
The spokesman said further investigation has started but no one was arrested so far.
