Case registered against SP leader for vandalism

An FIR has been filed against Samajwadi Party leader Atiq Ahmed and his 24 supporters in connection with vandalism and for creating hurdles in official work here, police said today.
Ahmed is Samajwadi Party's Lok Sabha candidate from Shrawasti.
Some people yesterday dismantled the under-construction boundary wall of Basic Siksha Adhikari office, the land of which was under dispute and Atiq Ahmed was present at the spot at that time, District Magistrate Mukesh Chandra said.
RES (Rural Engineering Service) Junior Engineer Satish Chandra has filed an FIR in this connection and the CDO (Chief development officer) has been asked to conduct an inquiry and submit his report in three days, he said.

Ahmed, on the other hand, said the under-construction wall was disputed and sub-standard material was being used for that and when the people assembled there and touched it, the wall fell down and he has nothing to do with it.
District Police Superintendent V D Shukla said that the FIR has been lodged on the complaint of the junior engineer and strict action would be taken against the guilty.
