The Alipore District and Sessions Court directed that CBI, which is investigating the scam on a Supreme Court directive, can interrogate Mitra within one week from today.
CBI had moved an application before the court seeking permission to interrogate the minister at the hospital claiming that it was imperative to do so in order to further the investigation into the scam.
Mitra was arrested by CBI in December, 2014.
His latest bail prayer before the Calcutta High Court was rejected on August 6.
