According to a CBI spokesperson, an FIR has been registered for criminal conspiracy and cheating under various sections of the IPC against Divisional Personal officer, Chief Vigilance Inspector of South Western Railways, an advocate, another person, besides the 13 candidates.
Sources said a CBI team carried out a search operation around 6.30 AM at an apartment in Karnataka's Bangalore city, where the 13 aspirants were kept with a promise that the question paper of the examination, which was scheduled to be held today, would be leaked for a bribe of Rs 5 lakh.
The spokesperson said after taking the 13 candidates into custody, residences of the other accused were also searched and some sample question papers and cash of Rs 1.5 lakh was seized.
