The accused, Anil Singh, had allegedly submitted forged and "self-created" documents with the intent to cheat All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and used the same as genuine, CBI sources said.
On the basis of these documents, Singh allegedly got the approval for establishment of the engineering college at Ajmer from AICTE, they said.
"Searches were conducted yesterday at the premises of the engineering college and Singh's residences at Ajmer and Bijnor (UP). Several incriminating documents pertaining to the allegations of the case have been recovered and the same are under scrutiny," a CBI spokesperson said.
