CBI yesterday filed FIRs in connection with five examinations and began preliminary investigation into seven others, according to sources in the central probe agency.
Making the second JPSC examination as the central point of being tainted, Jharkhand High Court had on June 14 directed a probe into as many as twelve various examinations.
The court had also ordered all officers, barring a woman officer, who had cleared JPSC-II examinations and got postings in various state government departments to stop work till CBI concluded its investigation and their salaries be stopped as the combined competitive examination was found to be tainted.
