The CBSE Class X results declared today brought cheers to students who scored high Cumulative Grade Points Average (CGPA) with a large number of them managing to achieve a perfect 10.
A total of 8,026 students from schools in Delhi region scored 10 CGPA and 3,129 others got 9.8 CGPA. The number of students who qualified the Class X examination stood at 2.65 lakh and the overall pass percentage was 96.29 per cent.
Delhi Education minister Manish Sisodia congratulated the successful candidates and appealed to the parents of those children, who could not achieve the desired scores, to be sympathetic to them.
"Parents and teachers of those children who could not qualify were requested to restore their confidence so that they could script new success stories," Sisodia wrote on Twitter.
"I am blessed to have the teachers who taught me and enabled me to score 10 CGPA," said Soham, a student of Amity International School.
Sharing his success story, Soham said that revision of work done at the school was key to get the perfect CGPA. He also stuck to regular, 3-4 hours of study.
Springdales School principal Ameeta M Wattal expressed happiness over the "excellent" result of her school where 50 students scored 10 CGPA. Most others scored high CGPA, not less than 8, she said.
Wattal, however, expressed her reservations over the high grades in large numbers, saying "the grading system needs to be relooked as to determine how effective a measure it was of the actual quality of a student.
