CCI to host national conf on economics of competition law

Fair trade regulator CCI will organise a national conference to discuss various issues related to economics of competition law in the country.
The conference, which will be held here on March 3-4, would facilitate exchange of ideas and views relevant to antitrust enforcement.
"The goal of this conference is to provide a forum to scholars, practitioners and experts working in the area of competition law for exchange of ideas, views and research findings on various economic theories, tools and applications relevant to antitrust enforcement," CCI said in a statement.
Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha will be the chief guest of the event, which would have six technical sessions and two panel discussions.

Competition Commission India (CCI) has the mandate to keep a tab on unfair business practices across sectors and mergers, while acquisitions beyond a certain threshold require its approval.
