To strengthen security in state prisons, Rajasthan Home Minister G C Kataria has said CCTV cameras and jammers would be installed to keep a strict watch on the inmates.

Yesterday, during a review meeting of the Jail department, Kataria also said that due to the increasing population pressure, jails would be shifted away from the densely populated areas.

He also said facilities for yoga, sports and other extra-curriculars should be extended to the prisoners.

Steps for clean water, sanitation and cleanliness, increased number of toilets, bathrooms, water harvesting system and plantation drive will be taken up on a war footing, an official release said here today.

On the issue of parole, Kataria said regular meetings should be conducted. He also said the jail staff should be given better training options and training courses should be devised on demand basis.

DGP Jail Bhupendra Kumar Dak and his colleagues were present in the meeting.
