An inquiry has been ordered into the alleged celebratory firing for the welcome of a BJP MLA at Udham Singh Nagar district recently.
We are investigating the incident. We got to know that celebratory gunshots were fired after BJP MLA Rajkumar Thukral inaugurated a temple at Dineshpur area here on Tuesday, senior police officer Nilesh Anand Bharne said today.
It seems that the shots were fired by the MLA's gunner, but the truth can come out only after the inquiry is completed, he said.
According to reports, Dineshpur station officer R S Karsana, who had accompanied the MLA to the temple had fired the rounds.
