Central Excise dept official commits suicide

A Central Excise department official allegedly committed suicide at his elder brother's house at a colony at Manamadurai in this district today.
Muthukumar (53) was found hanging in a room in the first floor by his relatives who went upstairs this morning to see why he had not come down.
Police said Muthukumar, working at the Velachery office in Chennai, had differences with his wife, a state government employee and was living separately.
He was also facing an official inquiry into his properties, they said.
Muthukumar had come to his brother's house on March 20.
