'Central power grid erecting towers without farmers consent'

: Farmers today petitioned the District Collector, alleging that Central power grid was erecting towers on agricultural lands in the district without their councurrence or payment of compensation.
This was being done in Attur, Manivelunthan ,Kattukottai Pethanaikenpalayam areas, they alleged.
Power lines were being laid after cutting down teak and coconut trees and banana plantations, they said.
