"The state government will submit a detailed report to the team for necessary action. While the state government has received Rs 400 crore out of the Rs 1,000 crore aid announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the aftermath of the calamity, we will submit a proposal seeking the remaining amount," Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu told reporters here today.
Visakhapatnam was one of the worst-affected districts in the severe cyclonic storm Hudhud that had made a landfall here on October 12.
Naidu said that enumeration for the damage caused to agriculture, horticulture, coffee plantation, fisheries, houses, loss of sheds of farmers in the cyclone had already been completed.
"The government had already asked the banks to reschedule loans of the farmers hit by the cyclone. Financial relief will be given to them through bank accounts by linking them with Aadhar cards," the CM said.
"Vizag will be developed as a tourism and IT hub and steps will be taken to bring more industries in the city. The government will also identify land and construct housing colonies with all facilitates," he added.
Naidu also chaired a review meeting of the officials of three district hit by Hudhud.
